Is this the key to achieving your goals?

Achieving your goals is about more than setting targets and milestones.

Have you ever set ambitious goals at the start of the year only to find them gathering dust on your desk as months pass by?

The secret to turning these aspirations into reality might be simpler and more powerful than you think.

It’s not just about setting goals; it’s about programming your mind every day to achieve them. Daily affirmations can be a game-changer.

The key is to keep your goals active in your daily life. By repeating your affirmations, you embed them in your mindset and behaviour.

Create your daily affirmations

Start with “I am” statements that reflect the person you aspire to be. Do you want your practice to be turning over £1 million each year? Your affirmation could be, “I am running a successful accountancy practice that turns over £1 million pounds each year and gives me the kind of life I love.”

It’s important to position your affirmations in the present, rather than saying “I want to be…’ or “I will be…” So “I am an amazing salesperson,” not “I am going to be an amazing salesperson.”

And it’s equally important that your affirmations are personal and specific. For this to work, you need to be able to really connect with them.

Repeat your affirmations

Repeat your affirmations every morning and night. Say them out loud so the words really resonate with you. It’s a good idea to have them in several places where you’ll see them throughout the day, like the home screen on your phone or on your computer. You could even print them out and have them on your desk. The key is to keep them alive in your mind.

Done consistently, daily affirmations gradually change the way you think and the way you behave, bringing you closer to your goals.
